Room Information

We are very excited to welcome you to Brympton.

To make your stay with us as comfortable and safe as possible, we would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to read this information.

We are a Grade 1 listed country house, as opposed to a hotel – but we are sure that our rooms will have all of the modern conveniences that you will need, and comfy beds!

We are a small team at Brympton House working hard to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. If there is anything we can help you with during your stay, please ask one of us and we will do our utmost to assist you. Thank you very much for staying with us, we hope that you have a fantastic time and enjoy your stay with us.

Need to knows

Wedding Day Check-In:
Check-in to your bedroom will be from 12:30 p.m. in the Great Hall. Check-in closes at 1:30 p.m., but the ushers will be around for the day and have the bedroom list if you miss this time. We do not have a formal check-in desk, but the wedding and ushers will be available in the Great Hall to show you to your bedroom. When you arrive, the wedding coordinator and ushers may not be in the Great Hall as they may be showing another couple to their bedroom. If this is the case, please sit in the Great Hall, and someone will be in to show you where you are staying.

Breakfast:
A buffet breakfast is provided by the Little Green Hut (subject to the wedding couple meeting their terms and conditions), featuring a selection of English breakfast teas, filter coffee, and orange juice. The menu includes:
- Toast and preserves, including Seville orange marmalade with whiskey, wild strawberry jam with Pimms, Nutella, and Marmite (Gluten-free/Vegan breakfast roll also available)
- Homemade overnight oats served with Greek and coconut yogurt, topped with a wild berry compote
- Mini Shreddies (for the young at heart!)
- Danish pastries

Night Before Check-In:
Bedrooms are not open for public booking on the night before a wedding and can only be booked as part of a package by the wedding couple. Please confirm your check-in times with the wedding party (which will not be before 4 p.m.) before travel. If you book a room the night before without the venue's permission, your booking will be canceled, and you will receive a partial refund only (40%).

Check Out:
Check out from your bedroom on the day of departure is at 10 a.m. Please ensure that you have vacated the room by 10 a.m., as our housekeepers will need access to it from this time.

Cots and Family Rooms:
We do not have any cots available for use, unfortunately. If you are a family or will be a cot, then you will need to book either room 11, 12, 13, or15.

Disabled Access:
Bedrooms 13, 14, and 15 are ground floor, step-free rooms with showers.

Amenities
All bedrooms come with towels and toiletries. Hair dryers are not available in the rooms. There are communal tea and coffee stations. There are communal ironing stations. There is a small kitchen area available for guest to warm up baby bottles, with a fridge and microwave.

Smoking:
You are respectfully reminded that Brympton House is a non-smoking establishment, and we request that you refrain from smoking while in the house. You may smoke within gardens, but please dispose of your cigarette ends responsibly using the cigarette bins provided. If you are found to have been smoking in your room, we will levy a cleaning charge.

First Aid Kit:
A first aid kit is kept within the office. Please tell us if you have to use this.

Parking & Access to Main Road:
Please do NOT PARK in the “Trade Entrance” car park or the pathway that leads from this down to the Stables. We have left this area for emergency services, taxis, the bride and groom’s car, and for you turn around in only. Please park responsibly using the designated spaces in the car park field, which is on your right as you come down the main drive, and the Farm House car park (for those in rooms 10-19 + 26-29). The lower car park (outside the bridal suite and rooms 13 & 14) is private parking.

Access:
You are welcome to come and go as you please, but if returning to your room late, we do ask you to keep the noise down out of respect for other wedding guests staying on site Please note that the lights in the halls and landing are left on at all times. The party on the wedding night is held at the Stables. When the event finishes, the Great Hall is locked 20 minutes later—but don't worry if you linger longer than this to chat, as the back door by the Star Chamber remains open at all times so that you can get back to your room (access to bedrooms 1-9).

Breakfast:
The Star Chamber is located off the main hall, just after the Library Bar on your left. Arrival time for breakfast is 9 a.m. Breakfast finishes at 10 a.m. Breakfast is not provided by us or included in your room rate but is provided by your host's caterers.

Duvets and Pillows:
Due to the number of our guests suffering from allergies, all our beds are made up with two synthetic pillows and four-season, feather-like synthetic quilts.

Tea/Coffee and Ironing Stations:
Beverages supplied in the tea stations are with our compliments. We actively support fair trade and local suppliers and use their products wherever possible. The tap water in your room is drinking water; we do not have water storage tanks, and our cold water comes straight from the mains. There are ironing stations located near the bedrooms.

Food and Drink in Rooms:
Please note that food and alcohol brought in from outside or takeaways cannot be consumed in your room or on our premises as per our Terms and Conditions.

Noise:
While every effort been made to reduce the impact of noise traveling, this is an old house and inevitably there will still be some. As guests come to relax (as well as party!) at Brympton House, we respectfully request that you do not play music or use the television at high volume, especially after midnight.

Heating:
Most of the walls benefit from high-grade insulating plasterboard to help reduce heat loss. Cavities in floors, ceilings, and walls (where possible) have been insulated. The radiators in your room do have thermostats, so you can adjust them according to how warm you like your room. The hot water supply to the rooms is continuous.

Internet Access:
Wireless internet access is available at Brympton House and is free for guests to use. To connect, please select ‘Brympton House Guest Wifi’ on your device, and you should be connected. There is no password.

Telephone:
Most network providers have coverage on the estate.

Lights & Electrical Equipment:
All the lights in the corridors at Brympton House are left on. Most of the lights in guest bedrooms are energy-saving. Even though this is the case, please turn your lights out when you are not in the room to help conserve power. If using chargers and entertainment equipment, please turn these off when not in use to avoid using unnecessary electricity.

Forgotten Anything?
We are, unfortunately, unable to post missing items, so please make sure to take everything away with you. Should you leave items behind, you can arrange a collection date with the office. Unclaimed items will be disposed of after 28 days.

Toilets:
Brympton House’s wastewater is serviced by a septic tank. Please do not flush anything other than a minimum amount of toilet paper down the toilet. All other items should placed in a sanitary disposal bag before depositing them in the bathroom bin.

Gardens:
We have over 33 acres of gardens at Brympton House for our guests to enjoy. They are continually being developed and restored. There are benches strategically positioned around the grounds for you to sit and enjoy the views. We have an apple orchard with a Japanese garden behind, and a path down the side of the South Terrace that leads you from the upper gardens to the lake and down to the Walled Garden. Please be advised that the gardens can be steep in places and not all the paths are level. Steps are made from local rock and can be slippery when wet. Please take extra care in the gardens, as in bright daylight, pathways can be dark, undulating, and unforgiving. For your own safety, areas/steps may be cordoned off, and you are asked not to step over these barriers.
